DESIGN PROCESS

constructon drawings autocad

The project can be a small drawn planting bed plan or a full master plan that includes locating and giving shape and meaning to all of your outdoor living spaces and the surrounding landscape.  It can end there or become more specific and include construction drawings, grading plans, material selections and planting plans. The plans can be turned over to you to self install or you may hire a company.  The list below shows the full process but any portion can be selected by itself.

Initial meeting to discuss project goals, ideas and requirements and take site measurements:

Do you want an outdoor kitchen or pool?

Is your home traditional or modern?

How will you live in your outdoor space?

Will you do the maintenance yourself or hire it out?

What are your favorite plants?

What is your budget?

These are some of the questions that will be asked as we uncover what you're trying to achieve. Upon the conclusion of the meeting, a site survey will be conducted and pictures recorded.

Conceptual drawings:

landscape master plan

This is a first draft and is done more quickly.  Typically a couple of concepts are developed as well as photographs showing the design intent.  These are reviewed with you so we can start to narrow what you'd like to see in your outdoor home.

The Master Plan:

This is the framework of the design.  It shows the location, shape and size of the spaces and planting beds.  Photos are included to show the character of the design.

Planting Plan, Dimensioned Drawings, Materials Selection, Grading Plan (Construction Drawings):

If we move to this stage, it's all the specifics and details.  Bluestone or brick? Redbud tree or Magnolia? How will the land be shaped? Where will the water go?
